What is Thyroid gland? 

The thyroid gland is located just below the bulge in the respiratory tract or trachea in our body. The thin tissue present in the center of the gland is called isthmus. Two thyroid lobes are attached on either side. The thyroid gland produces a number of essential hormones using iodine. Thyroid hormones are essential for the normal functioning of body parts.
The thyroid is the largest endocrine gland in the human body, which produces thyroxine hormones according to the needs of the body. Every human needs it from the womb till death. The common causes of thyroid problems are autoimmune thyroid disease (AITD). This is a genetic problem. In this problem, the immune system of our body starts producing antibodies. This condition causes the thyroid glands to produce more hormones than necessary.

Hyperthyroidism or overactive thyroid include weight loss, excessive heat, poor sleep, excessive thirst, excessive sweating, trembling hands, rapid heartbeat, weakness, anxiety, and insomnia. While hypothyroidism shows signs of lethargy, fatigue, constipation, slow heart rate, cold, dry skin, dryness in hair, and impotence.

1. Salamba Sarvangasana (Shoulderstand Pose)

3. Matsyasana (Fish Pose)

  1. Well. I have been doing yoga for over 20 years now, and do yoga like 5 hours per day and my thyroid is in the same stage. So personally I can't agree, that yoga could cure thyroid. Keeps me fit, but still have the health issue.
